Tyler really likes White Phase...
He said that they shoot off lots of bullets each day. They just recently started their Infantry tactical training. Which is learning how you stand in battle-rattle when you're firing at the enemy, ARM (advanced rifle marksmanship), and moving to various barriers for cover. They have to wear something called an IBA, which is their body armor. He said that it's really cool, it's just really heavy, and bulky. "Imagine standing with your legs bent, back straight, bent at the waist, wrapped up in a 20lb-25lb body armor vest; including your flick which is another vest with bags and pouches that hold gear, ammunition, grenades, and canteens." Not to mention, they are also wearing a helmet to stop the bullets. "We choose what we want to eat, the Drill Sergeant goes home at 5:00 PM and we march ourselves to chow; there's a lot more freedom than Red Phase." His platoon won BRM so they received a streamer for that, and they won their battle march and shoot, so they received another streamer for that! He asks for prayer as he enters into the last phase of basic on Friday. Pray that God gives him strength and energy to pull through! If we call on God in our weakness then He will make us strong. Praise Jesus! Love you all!

I could not imagine having all that gear on, in this heat, and having to learn and perform all that required of him! I'd be bent over alright...lying on the ground! It's another answer to prayer what with his platoon pulling together as they do! And, to win privileges and streamers as they do??? What an awesome God we serve!!! Will continue praying for God to give him strength, wisdom, knowledge, stamina, and speed during all the phases. YOU GO PRIVATE HAZEL!!! Thanks again, Brittany for the info. I check off and on daily for any update you may post. What a blessing to have you do this for us! Lots of love to you both!!! Me
Now, I know I clicked on my name! I must have been mistaken! I am not anonymous! I am VICKIE!!!!
Wow! I love, love, love these reports! I'm so glad they get to "march themselves right into chow" when the sgt. goes home. I can't imagine carrying all that gear. I'd have torn ligaments and pulled muscles all over my body. Our God is an awesome God and is certainly providing Tyler with grace. I love how He's providing Tyler with exactly what he needs and how He's providing us with you to keep us posted. You're an incredible young lady and I love to read your inspirational blogs! Love you lots!
It is hard to beleive we are nearing the last phase. Oh! I thank the Lord that we have been able to see God's hand at work in Tyler's life. He has provided and equipped Tyler by meeting all his needs. Let's continue lifting Tyler up that he finishes well. Brit-thanks for your updates! Ret
